Remote Video Extension Cord

MVE can stream live video at the highest quality and frame rate possible over any cellular connection (3G or 4G). On the receive end, the MVE master server/proxy can present the received video out as an RTSP stream to any Video Management system, allowing the transmitted video to be integrated into pre-existing VMS systems. This remote video extension cord allows you to preserve your investment in your existing VMS while extending it into the mobile world with cameras mounted in vehicles, on poles, or in remote offices. This allows the system to stay connected through transitions such as cellular roaming, address reassignments, or even complete signal outages. Whether video is being requested or not, a heartbeat connection is established so you don't need to chew up expensive transfer bandwidth when it is not needed. Hybrid Embedded Windows 7

HauteSpot Networks now offers on all new microNVR edge video processor boxes, our own Hybrid Embedded version of Windows 7 Professional. This is a full version of Windows 7 Professional SP1, with HauteSpot supported modifications to the OS and disk partition structure. These modifications allow the system to have all the benefits of an embedded operating system with all the flexibility of full feature desktop system. The boot partition is fully protected from write activity during normal operations, making it less susceptible to errors caused by power failures and shock/vibration. Users can install their own applications, modify the system, and use it just like a normal desktop. When they are done with their installations and configuration, they just click a desktop icon and the system changes are permanently applied. This innovative new operating system allows all the flexibility without any of the risk. Combine this with HauteSpot's optimized video, network and wireless drivers, and our virtual router capabilities built in, an you have a very powerful solution in the smallest footprint possible. 802.11 b/g/n AP and Client

This gives you the flexibility to use the wireless for both connectivity to your local network and as an Access Point for devices such as tablets, smartphones and laptop computers to roam up to it in order to connect to it's VMS functions. Use Windows Remote Desktop to manage your microNVR over wireless for complete management flexibility. General Update Information

Network Attached Storage

All HauteWRAP, WRAPter, HauteLINK, HauteMOBiLE and HauteMESH routers now support SMB (MS Windows) and FTP network storage sharing. Most HauteSpot routers have a USB port to which inexpensive, hot plug-able, compact USB disk drives can be attached. Many HauteSpot routers also have a miniSD slot as well. Either the USB or the miniSD slot can be shared as a network drive. This allows IP cameras and other network devices to backup to a HauteSpot router with no other equipment required. This is a great, low cost way to create local backup at remote sites for cameras.

UPS Support

All HauteWRAP, WRAPter, HauteLINK, HauteMOBiLE and HauteMESH routers with USB ports support a UPS monitor feature which works with APC UPS units that support “smart” signaling over serial RS232 or USB connection. This feature enables the network administrator to monitor the UPS and set the router to ‘gracefully’ handle any power outage with no corruption or damage to the router. The basic purpose of this feature is to ensure that the router will come back online after an extended power failure. To do this, the router will monitor the UPS and set itself to hibernate mode when the utility power is down and the UPS battery is has less than 10% of its battery power left. The router will then continue to monitor the UPS (while in hibernate mode) and then restart itself after when the utility power returns. If the UPS battery is drained and the router loses all power, the router will power back to full operation when the ‘utility’ power returns. You can also have your router send an email or SMS message to a network administrator to report on the UPS condition.

VPN Support

All HauteWRAP, WRAPter, HauteLINK, HauteMOBiLE and HauteMESH routers support a broad array of Virtual Private Networking protocols. HauteSpot recommends the use of OpenVPN which any of our routers can support as either a client or server. OpenVPN layer 2 networks running on our routers create low level tunneled connections which support full "local network" capabilities such as camera discovery and multicast support over wide area networks. VPNs are also a great way to provide "static IP" addressing capabilities on roaming dynamic networks like cellular.

  • Power loss prevention +

    Cameras and routers should be put on a UPS system to prevent in case of power loss.
  • Waterproofing +

    Be prepared to waterproof your connectors using rubber electrical compound and/or splicing tape.

    The narrower the horizontal beamwidth, the higher the gain; narrow beam antennas receive less noise.
